growing out fry

i have two sets of fry right now. texas x BP and flowerhorn x BP and i got a few more pairs im trying to get fry from. i been thinking about building some type of rack system to grow my fry out. i want to have as many small containers as i can on shelves and have them all connected with hose for circulation and have some type of sump at the bottom for the heater and filtration. i just cant figure out what type of containers to use i was thinking something like 1 fry in each container. i was thinking about using like plastic party cups or something but i think thats too small for what i want to do. i will need something to grow each fry out enough to figure out if its worth keeping, so im thinking about 2 to 3 inches would be big enough. how big off a container would i need to grow a fish to 3 inches with out and negative effects. i want something cheap cause im gonna try to get at least 50 on a rack. i wonder if plastic bowls would work since the are not as deep but bigger around.

anyone got any ideas about what i could use?

i have had my new male flowerhorn seperated from my female because they kept knocking down the divider i put up in the 4' tank. so today i was outside and i gathered up all the egg crate i could find in the shed and i made a good divider. it has 10 suction cups holding it in place so i dont think its going anywhere this time. i cut a hole in the bottom 4 squares tall and about 10 squares long. i put a piece of slate in the middle where the hole is for her to lay the egg on and burried it a little. only she can fit through the hole at the bottom so she can go on her side when he gets to rough. i just went out there and they were lip locked and they both had some cuts. i guess they both like it rough cause she wasnt trying to get away. i just did about a 25% water change too so they should really be getting started tomorrow.

i tried to clean the glass this time for the pics but they had the water all stirred up from digging.

the male shortbody

the female

some other pics i got

About a year ago, I was living between two places trying to get all of my fish moved into the new apartment. To do this, I had to break down my 210gal. I got everything accept for a 55gal that was over at my mom's place. For the time being, I had put two of my 3-4" juvie flowerhorns in that 55gal. I figured that would be ok because I had lots of hiding spots and some danios for dithers. Well, it ended up not being ok. I went to my mom's to take care of these fish, and by the time I had gotten there, this little guy had his jaw mostly ripped off. I set up an emergency hospital "rubbermade tub" and this fella ended up living.
Nowadays, he lives in a 125gal with 2 other fish. Originally I had bought him thinking he was just a nice pearly low grade fh. But now, I am thinking JK I am really glad this little guy pulled through for me.

I picked him up for $70 when he was about 8" or so. Since then, he has put on some size. I have had him for almost a year now. He is pretty awesome.
Up til a month ago the only hybrid I had kept was blood parrot's.
Working with Jing Chan who was among the first to import the true Blue Diamond Flowerhorn, I can now offer an accurate diagostic to tell if a fish is indeed Blue Flowerhorn.

1. Shape is the same as red dragon, except that Blue males have proportionately smaller humps.
2. There is very bright orange circle around the eye.
3. 90 odd per cent of the body is metallic Dodger Blue.
4. there isa small black wedge running from between the eyes less than a head length down the dorsal midline, ending in a point.

Of the pictures onlnie as of November, the You Tube videos depict kamfas, Webshots Oscar hybrids. The Arizona Aquatic Group photo is a red dragon. The Kijiki depictions are true Blue diamond Flowerhorns.
