Has anyone ever heard of a long fin balloon belly ram? We just got our ram tank started with some regular balloon belly rams and I found these long fins, they are shaped similar to an angelfish. I am just looking for some info on them, I did a little research and couldn't really find anything helpful. I will post some pics later tonight or tomorrow.

Breeding Rams. Advice Needed.

Hi All..!

As the topic states, just looking for information on breeding Rams. We've got an Electric Blue pair in a little tank all of their own and we were wondering about the feasibility of getting them breeding. They're about 1.5" at present. Is it too early? Is there any sure fire way to sex them accurately?

We also have a Golden Ram and a Blue Ram. They seem to have paired off. Their showing off to each other, chasing the Geos away from their chosen rock and the genital papilla are out. Is it going to be a problem for them breeding with a colony of 6 Geos? Is there anything we can do to help the process along? Is there anything specific we should know about breeding these little cuties?

Thanks guys n gals!

New here, i am just showing off my dwarfs!!

Hey all
I registered a long time ago to see a picture (It said i needed to register or something) anyway this forum just has too many cool features for me not to post a couple of times.
My name is hudson and i live in Manaus Brazil.
I have various aquariums, and lots of fish, mainly apistogrammas.
For starters i will post a collage of all my apistos.
Unfortunately i introduced a disease that has killed many of my favorites and i am sort of depressed as i personally had the joy of catching them, the feeling of extreme tenseness as i brought them back to my home alive etc.

Here is a list of the apistogrammas i have had in the last week some of wich died the day before yesterday.

Apistogramma paucisquamis. My favorite fish, i have one adult left. A juvinile and a spectacular sub adult died in the past two days. (one was a rare variety, red edges on fins.
TRUE Apistogramma pertense. This is also a rare fish and is commonly misidentified and confused with the Apistogramma cf. pertense. My only one died of the strange disease. It was one of my favorites and exhibited an inclination to sift sand more then any others i have kept, much like a geophagus.
Apistogramma sp. Abacaxi This is hard to find too and is currently my favorite living fish in my tanks (other then my pikes, crenicichla regani and crenichla inpa)
Apistogramma agassizii I recently collected two forms of amazing Apistogramma agassizii i really like one of the sub adults.
Apistogramma sp. I also collected this and it is currently unidentified. It is amazingly colored but unfortunately all the males died
Apistogramma sp. Unidentified
Apistogramma sp. Currently unidentified
Apistogramma cf. pertense
Apistogramma sp.
Apistogramma rupununi
Apistogramma hippolytae

I have more, differant types of fish but wil post those on a later date. More photos later!!!

http://www.cichlidmadness.com/forums/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=23907
http://www.cichlidmadness.com/forums/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=23908
http://www.cichlidmadness.com/forums/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=23909
http://www.cichlidmadness.com/forums/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=23910
http://www.cichlidmadness.com/forums/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=23911

I have got a pair of cockatoos, the male has become very shy lately, hiding in his cave, not coming out much.I have had him for about 5 months now, could this be because he has fully matured now?He shows no interest in the female I have with him,he just chases her out of his territory if he sees her in it.He looks fine, eats normal,I just hardly ever see him,and wonder if this is common for cocktoos.

What do you consider "dwarf"?
I personally don't consider fish that get bigger than 4" true "dwarfs" but I know many folks will include 5" species like keyholes and some of the other acaras in the "dwarf cichlid" category.
Just wondering what everyone's view is.
