Random update shots

Just a few random pics. Nothing spectacular, water spots, background algae, and tannin colored water. I haven't ever been known for my photog skills, but then again snakes are easier to photograph than fish lol.

Lots of Rats

Title says it all. My rats are finally starting to pay for themselves. I have one female in labor and three more ready to drop a litter any hour now. Its kind of corny, but I feel kind of proud of them lol. Hopefully there won't be any losses, but I think they should do pretty well. I kept all of the birthing females with my dominant female ratty, they all did a pretty good job of watching her litter of 18, so I am hoping for the best!!!!
Makes me feel sort of guilty about feeding off their babies.....but, snake food is snake food. At least they are very spoiled before being fed off.
I went through so much trouble finding female rats up here, so it is nice to see thing finally get going. This will be these four ladies' first litter. I am kind of excited to see what kind of offspring they throw.
I will post up some pics once the first mother rat gets more settled in. She looked like she was doing a pretty good job for her first time. Getting all of her babies cleaned off and whatnot.

Survivor

About a year ago, I was living between two places trying to get all of my fish moved into the new apartment. To do this, I had to break down my 210gal. I got everything accept for a 55gal that was over at my mom's place. For the time being, I had put two of my 3-4" juvie flowerhorns in that 55gal. I figured that would be ok because I had lots of hiding spots and some danios for dithers. Well, it ended up not being ok. I went to my mom's to take care of these fish, and by the time I had gotten there, this little guy had his jaw mostly ripped off. I set up an emergency hospital "rubbermade tub" and this fella ended up living.
Nowadays, he lives in a 125gal with 2 other fish. Originally I had bought him thinking he was just a nice pearly low grade fh. But now, I am thinking JK I am really glad this little guy pulled through for me.

Ok, so I finally got more of that algae off of the front of his tank. It was also feeding time, which he was overjoyed about. I threw in some different stuff, a few hand-fish comparison shots and an artsy shot that I liked.
As someone asked before, I have no clue how old this guy is. I picked him up for $70 when he was about 8" or so. Since then, he has put on some size. I have had him for almost a year now. He is pretty awesome. The only fish I have that will open his mouth up so I can literally drop pellets in. I came away with a few too many good shots this time.
